![]() There is a new champion at the top of our “rota”, and we look forward to our next visit in a few months. Longfei is not just the best Chinese restaurant in Bloomington, it is perhaps the best Chinese restaurant I have ever experienced. On our next visit we will order the Spicy Shrimp entree that we spied at the next table. The one entree ordered, Black Pepper Steak (also from the “authentic” section of the menu) was very well prepared, with first rate beef, freshly cut peppers and onions, served in a very large portion. The Chinese Pancake was also large and exceptionally good. They were exceptional, and so large that three of them were taken home. For less than $9 we received a large plate with six tennis-ball sized buns. We ordered two appetizers-the Steamed Chinese Buns and the Chinese Pancake, both from the “authentic” section of the menu. We ordered Hot and Sour Soup, and what arrived were two large cereal-sized bowls of very good soup. And though we have multiple great choices for Thai, Korean and Tibetan on our “rota”, we have never found a good Chinese restaurant. Great Mexican is strangely “MIA” here, given that this is one of America’s great college towns. But as for genuine Italian, there is none to be found.
